Steve, this is risky, but can make you money and all of your vendors money. You should build a Diesel Truck that you can dragrace. Try and get all your vendors or sponsors to give you parts in exchange for sticker space on the truck. Then when you drag race the truck on weekends or whatever and it is a great advertisement truck and it can make you money and your vendors money! I dont know alot because im just in High School but it is a great advertisement idea.

Ya, exactly A Towrig.com truck, like a project diesel or something that we could build to be like a 9 or 10 second truck. It would be great for advertising!!!

It is a cool idea, but the question is who thinks it's such a great idea that they would donate money and parts? Unfortunately, not as many as those who simply think it's a great idea.

Talking serious coin with something like this, methinks.

Very true and when it comes to some sponsors when it comes down to getting the parts they can get stingy, not saying that anyone here would. Most companys dont want to expend anymore money than they have to unless its for tax reasons that would work but wont likely happen.

ya im still trying to get my truck how i want it but i would donate a lil bit. theres almost 3000 members and say if maybe half (i know still a large number) donate say 20 bucks that would be a lil chink of change to start playing with...the thing i think would suck almost more than the cash is that we are spread all over the damned place...not everyone would be able to have hands on wiht it...hope that made sense oh well i know what im talkin about...i think :)

Actually, it might be more cost effective for me to find someone who already has a company race truck, that way I could trade advertising for a "TowRig.com" banner on their truck. That way both of us get no cost advertising.

That would be a much less expensive way to go, but you loose out on all the fun of building and racing a truck. Not to mention the endless supply of great new tech stories for the site. Id be more that willing to put in time wrenching on it, but like what was already stated, theres a lot of distance between members. Just my two cents.

Thats might just be the best solution we have all heard so far not saying it wouldnt be fun to build but at the same distance and funding wouldnt be a issue.

I agree. That is a good idea and I would hate to miss the oportunity of a fun build and working on my first diesel truck.
