6.0 overheats and cracks heads and dealer says NO warranty due to straight pipe causing enging to "over work". WTF! I call that BS! The same truck has been in to the dealer 4 times since 04 for multiple sensor problems and twice for over heating before the exhaust mod. Dude was quoted 3-4k for repairs. They have recognized the previous problems but now argue the problem is caused due to the exhaust mod. What do you guys think? I told him to retrieve the truck, pack it full of C4 and send it back the hard way:D

Edit: Previous meniton about C4 was for entertainment purposes only. Sheeesh.

x2. Another dealer might be more friendly. Check over on thedieselstop.com Depending on your location, people might know of a mod friendly dealer.

I have heard a number of things about Ford being very hard on people with any mods at all on the 6.0's. Even a story of a voided warranty because of a drilled exhaust manifold for an EGT gauge - and the issue that it was brought in for was unrelated to the exhaust or turbo.

Yeah we have a better Ford dealer here that is only 20 miles from us but they won't step on the toes of the other dealer because they deal closely. The guy is now thinking about a Cummins conversion in this truck which I personally think will make one hell of a truck.

Get this. The dealer finally agreed to warranty the engine which is a total loss due to the damage IF..............the guy has the stock exhaust replaced and the stock air box replaced BEFORE they do any work so it's now down at the muffler shop getting someone elses stock exhaust. The bill for just heads was gonna be in the area of $5K:eek: . Now they have decided to replace the engine which before the dealer agreed to cover the cost was gonna cost him.....$13,000.00:eek: :doah: rotfl .
