I don't see me replacing my 97 for quite a while. It is paid for, gets me where I need to go (basically all over the country so far) in comfort. If it was a daily driver, I would consider replacing it with a new GM.

Where is the options for "nothing, I'm done"? ;)

Honestly, as far as I can see, it does not get better than what I have. The other makers haven't offered anything that changes the outcome of my initial investigations, and GM has IMO gone down since introducing the '03 "angry chinaman" Avalanchization cap. So here I sit, happy as a "duck on a June Bug". :D

    Hmm...

The 2wd Dodge is gonna have to be replaced sooner or later. And I'm thinking it'll be replaced with a GM. Couple reasons why. I want a crewcab/4 door dually- The Dodge crewcab is weeny. Fords is big/nicer, but I can't stand the interior...No matter what trim level, it still looks like a work truck to me. I want an auto- The Aliison is the only auto of the 3 I have any faith in. I like the GM interior over the other two. And I like the IFS front of the GM and it's ride quality. If I'm gonna be towin stuff all over the place for long distances, I want to be as comfy as possible. To me, the GM fits the "road trip" idea alot better than the compitition.

I'm looking at a Dodge dually dump with an extended cab, 4x4, and a CTD. I'm getting terribly sick of gassers and Cummins makes a nice diesel. I need to keep it fairly short for driving up the cemetery rows when I dig a grave so the 'weeny' extended cab is perfect for me waytogo . I want a solid front axle I know will hold up when I get it twisted on a hill (yes I haul dirt from graves on a hill, it sucks). And I want a manual tranny for strength and reliability so the Allison is a non issue for me.

Make sure that the frame issues on the Dodge duallys are taken care of before you buy one, right now they aren't even recommended for slide-in campers, let alone a utility box, let alone a dump bed. Not even sure if you can buy one that fits a Dodge since they don't make a C&C truck, hence no flat frame rails in the back that body fitters usually make industrial stuff like dump beds to fit on.

Bah, you had to pee in my cornflakes twice today waytogo

Guess I need to do a bit of research. I need a strong frame, strong drivetrain, and gobs of torque. Creature comforts are not a big deal to me. I 'may' order AC for the really hot days and a CD player. They can keep all their power junk, I don't need a power gas tank flap.

We've had our 05 dodge since march and I have to say I love it. I have always been a ford man and love my 96 PSD but the new fords just turn me off. Now after putting 20K on our dodge I am sold on cummins, and the back seat is not really that small, I'm 6'4" and I have ridden the back a few times just fine.

Thats because Ford IS so far behind the other two. :D

For me it would have to be a Chevy D-Max LBZ Allison 4x4 3500 SRW CC LB.....Fully loaded LS model with everything BUT Leather and Onstar.

....thats mainly because of that unreliable 6.0 powerplant. Everything else on the truck is solid. That 6.0 was never meant to have that much hp. According to international, it can handle that much hp, but it wasnt designed to take it. International doesnt even use that engine, that should tell you something there! thats what ford gets for trying to please the growing trend of diesel hot rodders and hp junkies...no offense intended to anyone. waytogo
