Hey Dodge guys, I was wondering if the IFS housing on your trucks, (that have the 9.25") are aluminum or cast iron? I understand that AAM makes the IFS for the Dodge and the GM 9.25". AAM offeres an aluminum and a cast iron case for these IFS trucks. I have an '03 GMC 1500HD, and am considering swaping the aluminum case for a cast iron case, for more strength.

I would imagine it's aluminum, since like you said it comes from the same company and are similar designs.

All dodge IFS 1/2 tons, durango, dakota's have aluminum housings. The '06 and up 1/2 tons now have a GM type front axle disconnect to help with fuel mileage.
