Driveline Vibration

    I have a 2000 Ford F-350 Diesel Crew Cab 4x4. I am having a small vibration in the rear driveline from 1-10 mph. I have ruled out the transmission, torque converter, replaced the carrier bearing, and am currently replacing at rear U-joints. Anyone having a similar problem or have any idea on what it could be. From what i hear the 2-piece rear driveshafts are nothing but problems

    Do you have a lift on your truck and what kind of tires do you have?

    I do not have a lift, i had the suspension redone to pull me gooseneck, the vibrations didn't start until i changed my carrier bearing which was destroyed, i have firestone transforce A/T 265/75/R16 Load Range E. I have gotten away from big nobby tires, they are nothing but problems.

    Maybe the new carrier bearing is not lined up completely with the driveshaft or you lost a balance weight on the drive shaft and need to rebalance it.

    Thats what i am doing now i took my draft shaft to a guy who builds custom shafts from pulling truck, he said i could have bent or twisted it drag racing. He is going to spin it and rebalance if needed, he also said he could cut out the bad section of shaft and weld in a new piece. i don't know it just pisses me off because i have tryed everything and the vibration is still there hope this works.

    Drive Line Vibration

    Hey I Just Got Rid Of A 2000 Stroker That Had The Same Prob...after 5 Transmisions I Finally Figured Out The Problem...on The End Of The Drive Shaft There Is A Pin That The Carrier Berring Rides On, That Was Worn In An Oval Shape And Was Causing The Carrier Berring To Wear Out And Then Crack The Housing On The Trans. I Looked All Over The Nation For A New Drive Line And None Were Availible. Hopefully This Will Help. Good Luck

    Correction On Prev. Post.....

    It Was Not The Carrier Berring It Was The Constant Velocity Berring....

    I found out what my problem was, i sent my rear driveshaft over to an expert, the balancing weights on the rear of the shaft rusted off, and there is a big weight that is pressed on the end of the rear driveshaft, that weight actually breaks itself lose and kinks the shaft. The driveline expert said it is a common problem and is just bad engineering on ford's part.
