Ok i put a downloader in the truck and now im wanting some stuff to help it breathe..........

exhaust wize i think im going to cut out the cat and muffler but i have two questions
    1. will this void my warranty on the truck?
    2. Is a straight through system anywhere near as good as a bolt on system.....because id rather not spend $600-$1000 dollars on one

im wanting an intake also but i dont know where to start
who makes the best that yall have tried?

First, getting rid of the cat, from what I hear, will help lower EGT's. But, getting rid of the muffler makes the truck really loud. It is up to you but I think that a good aftermarket muffler would be better than getting rid of the muffler all toghther. It is a personal taste but I think that it is too loud.

It will depend on the dealership as to weather it will void the warrenty or not. Good luck.

Exhaust will not effect your warranty.

We offer budget kits for alot less than the big names.

intake - do you want mileage or flow? My guess is mileage. Look at a volant or AFE stg 2.

I have a MBRP exhaust system on my dually and love the sound and cooler EGT's. I think that the straight pipe just make too much of the mid range noise. Some folks love the sound. It will make is sound like a big rig with the straight pipe. Others that are good are the Flowmaster, Mangnaflow, and Corsa, just to name a few. MBRP has a nice web site that has sound clips that you can listen to.

I installed a ME pipe on my 2006 Mega, left the CAT. The CAT only has about a 1/2lb of backup not enough to really make any difference AND removing the CAT will cause warranty issues. The Mega's have a resonator aft of the muffler, so it takes out what some would call excessive noise from muffler removal. Honestly, removing the muffler and installing the ME pipe was the best mod I have done. My EGT's dropped significantly.

As far as the intake/air filter goes, I installed the Ice Box CAI. Nicely manufactured unit, uses an Amsoil nano filter. I also changed out the Intake Horn, installed a GDP.

You already have a 4" exhaust system, just needs to loose the greater interference of the muffler and breathe better.

"ME" is a muffler elimination pipe got mine from Genos Garage. If you are adding power and increasing boost you might also want to consider changing out the plastic pipe that goes from the Intake Horn to the intercooler, Genos sells them as well, called a BD Intercooler Pipe Replacement p/n BD-1042590. Lots of good quality stuff at Genos for our trucks. http://www.genosgarage.com/

"GDP" Intake Horn got mine from Glacier Diesel Power, it goes where the Banks High Ram Intake Horn goes (see that in your future/soon to come list) I also got my 2-micron filtration and big line kit from them, Richard is a real nice fellow, there are articles on the site that are good reads as well. http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/

    Ice Box Intake http://www.iceboxmanufacturing.com/

There are a lot of 'other' goodies available for our trucks, just depends on which direction you are leaning and of course the size of your wallet.
