Does size matter? My parts guy offered up a deal on a 5" Magnaflow stainless turbo back system.
Is 5" going to be better than a 4" system? Also wondering about noise levels in the cab.Just have a afe cold air and a hypertech programmer now.
    Thanks

five inch would work better....bigger pipe=more breathing room

but i dont think that you would necessarily need it just running cold air and a programmer......if you were to do more than that i think it would be a good investment down the road though

A 5'' exhaust will not give you any better performance than a 4'' exhaust unless you have pretty significant power upgrades (ie 500ish horsepower). A 4'' exhaust will give you plenty of 'breathing room' for just a programmer.

However, a 5'' will give you a deeper tone, which most people like better. So I would say if you can get a good deal on a 5", go for it waytogo .

5" can drone more that 4" on the freeway.

a lot of people have shown dynos of poor performance with a 5" exhaust and less than 500hp

True, but "poor" performance usually means maybe 3 hp less than a 4'' system would give; which is trivial on a truck producing 300hp.

I still say if you can get a good deal on a 5'' definitely go for it.
