I installed one 2 years ago and the motor on the pump died. Diesel performance put a 6 year warranty on the pump, but they made me pay for shipping while I was without my truck for 5 days because they ground shipped it, and wanted me to ship it back...... So I finally get my second $1100 dollar pump and installed it. 1 hour later I see fuel leaking out of the fittings. I called Fass back and they sent a recalled pump that had bad threads......apparently the worker just threw one in a box from the wrong pile and shipped to me.......DUH! So now I made them overnite the 3rd $1100 dollar pump and so far so good except they didnt send a return tag on the box again........ Everytime I spend a little extra cash on a performance part, I end up getting a hard time. Rant off.
Unfortunately, it's just the nature of the beast. Some companies will cover the return shipping, but most will not per the warranty. And most will only send the replacement item per the shipping you used for the return. So if you did 3 Day, they won't overnight. Hopefully the new pump gets the job done. Is it any quieter than your previous pump? Since FASS has done the quiet mods, supposedly they are less noisy. Hopefully, they upgraded you to a lifetime warranty as you now have the new pump! Dave
The pump is somewhat quieter and I did get a new pump without the lifetime, they are still gonna stick to the original purchase order even though its the new version. Im just glad its done.
