And this is in the wrong forum, should be in the feedback forum. ;)
I know I did not get the 6.9 wrong because I didn't even mention it, I got the older info from this post: https://towrig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1685

We need to get feedback from more than one person on this, because one person will think one way is correct and vice versa, so come on Ford guys how should the correct years/motors be broken out?

The 6.9 showed up in 1983 IIRC, and lasted until '87 where it was replaced by the N/A 7.3 in 1988. The 7.3 was turbo charged some time in the real early 90's, but I don't know which year to be exact.

1994.5(more so '95) was the first year for the Powerstroke 7.3. It's last year was 2003.

The same year ('03) Ford used the 6.0 in conjunction, and is still current obviously.

This is what I have on the brain for my Ford time line, it could be right or wrong.:D

pretty much.... ford tubroed the 7.3L in 93 manual trans trucks, and then turboed them all in 94, but also made the powerstroke the same year.
the 6.9 and 7.3IDI are the same engine, just bored out. so we might as well class them toghther.

so why did the ford foums get split without having the proper info before doing it?

Because I thought we had the proper info, so why do you ask? I think I will call the forum "All old stuff" that way everyone will be happy, I took the years off the forum so it will fine, should have just left it that way.

now there is no forum for 94-97 first generation powerstrokes.
there is no such thing as a 9.9L. IH made a 9.0 liter, but was never installed in a pickup from the factory.

Good Lord!! The 9.9 was supposed to be 6.6
Anyway, we have two options here, change the 1999-2003 powerstroke forum to 1994-2003 powerstroke or add a 1st generation powerstroke 1994-97.
