I have run Power Service, Lucas and Howes. So far the Howes has worked best and I get it for $10 a gallon at the truck stop. The truck runs smoother and get a little more mpg that makes up the cost of the additive.

    low ash 2-stroke

Personally I don't use it,they say that the cummins builds a lot of carbon and ash build-up around the valves, the 2-stroke helps cut it out,I know it's good stuff,I use to use it in a 2 stroke engine in a RC race airplane,It gained about a thousand rpm over reg. 2 stroke oils, and the head would wipe clean with a paper towel, this is good!,so maybe a little low ash 2-stroke in the fuel is good for the cummins also, mrgenz

I'm running the Opti-Lube XPD. Engine purrs, less rattle, gained a few mpg's too.

I also run the Power Service additive. I have run it in every tank that I have ever put into the truck. I wish I had the oppurtunity to use another kind but this is all that anyone carries around here.

I usually run Power Service, but have used Stanadyne. I liked the Stanadyne, but here it cost more than the PS. I did not see enough of a difference to spend the extra.

the only difference with the stanadyne is that you use less than the PS.
if you do the math with the dosages it costs the same or less (depending on what you pay)
I would like to try Howes but cant find any place local that carrys it. I like stanadyne but I have to order it and I'm not good at keeping an inventory for myself.

Amsoil when I remember to order it, otherwise I use PS as it works well also about 2 more mpg and less rattle.

have used diesel kleene before, but never heard of using 2 stroke oil. have even heard of adding a few ounces of gasoline before a filter change, although i have never done it. what's the straight poop and what really works the best. know a guy who runs kerosene in his rig and says he has no probs. don't think i wanna try that either, but if someone can convince these things are legit and not just wishful thinking or hype i might try it.

I'm trying the 2 stroke oil. Seems to run a bit quieter than before. I can't comment on the mileage. This is the first tank full.

I'm thinking about running the AMSoil Concentrate + Cetane boost, come spring. I don't think I need the lubricant as much as the other benefits, due to the B20 diesel I'm now running.
