Supposedly they will be reinstated when the 2006 model year begins. I don't understand why you can't get a Cummins with a nv4500 anymore.
That is simple. The 4500 is inferior the 5600. I don't know why anyone would want the 4500 with it's weaker power rating and gear problems when the 5600 is available.
I relize that and besides, thats not the point. You wondered why Dodge wouldn't put a weaker, more problematic 5 spd transmission behind the ISB. Obviously because the newer 6 spd'(s) are clearly superior. But thats Dodge for you.....trying to fix something thats not broken with discontinuing the 5600. Regardless, they will either fix their new 6 spd or use a different 6 spd box.
G56 trucks are due to be released today. Supposedly it's just a reflash of the computer to deal with some issue with RPM...
Well, not it appears the only problem was the tranny was shipped a quart low. So the dealers just have to add a quart of fluid to the tranny's and they are considered good to go. Thats straight from the mouth of a dealer so hopefully that ones right.
They screwed up once by putting this crappy tranny into service and I would expect them to DE-TUNE an awsome engine. Then again look at the Mega Cab. I think they have someone working for them that is under cover Ford or GM putting the fly in the ointment for them. rotfl
