Ive searched ,but didnt really find where I should put this .

I have a 99 Dodge CTD with an auto. Im now going to be pulling a 28' Toy hauler , the cargo type thats empty inside, and Im wanting to put gauges in it. I was thinking about useing the Pyrometer, Trans temp. , and Motor temp.
What do you guys think and why ?
I also have an intake , exhaust , Diablo Sport Power Puck , and a tranny cooler mounted up front.
I plan to mount them to the top , of the inside , of where the cup holder folds down. I dont want the pillar style mounts. I want them out of sight to theifs ,but visible to me. Thanks in advance

Pyrometer for sure... especially since you have the chip.

Transmission temperature is also a good choice.

Why do you want coolant temperature?... is the factory gauge broken? If I were you, I would get a boost gauge instead.

I was just trying to get a more accurate temp. reading with that gauge. Im not sure how much I trust the factory gauge pulling , since my FUEL gauge has gone out , then worked for the summer , and has gone back out since winter started.

Why would you say a boost gauge? Does that just measure how much boost I have at a certain moment?

I wouldn't have a problem trusting the stock temp. gauge, you don't hear about those going out very often.

And yes, the boost gauge measures in PSI the amount of boost pressure that your turbo charger is putting out. It is helpful to have a boost gauge because it can really help in diagnosing problems. For example, a couple of years back when I was towing, one of the end tanks on my intercooler separated, thus giving me a boost leak. I was able to determine what the problem was by noticing that my boost gauge was reading much lower than normal and my pyrometer (exhaust temperature) was reading much higher than normal. If I wouldn't have had gauges, I would have continued driving while running upwards of 1200 - 1300 degrees, which would have damaged my engine.

Not to mention it is fun to watch that thing wrap when you get on the throttle waytogo

    Haha. rotfl

I like that you had an experience useing your boost gauge because I really couldnt think of any reason to have one other than to watch the needle swing. Thank a bunch for your replies 4054x4.
