General Motors Corp. said Wednesday the 2007 retail commercial truck prices it announced last week, which were included in the Aug. 22 Light & Medium Truck Report, were for next model year's gasoline-powered trucks and not the 2007 emissions-compliant diesel trucks as stated.

The correct manufacturer's suggested retail prices for its diesel-powered trucks will range from $37,934 for the Class 4 C4500 model to $83,437 for the Class 8 T8500 tandem axle model, GM said. The October issue of Light & Medium Truck magazine will include the complete price list.

The prices include surcharges ranging from $2,950 to $7,600 MSRP, depending on the model, to pay for the addition of emissions-related equipment, including hardware and software, GM said. Effective January 2007, all new diesel commercial trucks must comply with lower emission levels set by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The prices are for GM's 2007i (interim) models, which will be built in the first quarter next year. These include the U.S.-built C- and T-Series, conventional and tilt-cab trucks. GM did not announce prices for the smaller W-Series low-cab-forward truck, built by Isuzu in Japan. L&MT
