From what I understand, it's simply a modified sensor so that you can adjust your timing, correct?

Yes, there was a post on tdr that actually said exactly how it was modifed and how you could actually do it yourself. But they said doing it yourself you run the risk of advancing the timing too much if you don't know exactly what your doing or now much to do it. Whereas with the rokktek you just bolt it on and go and it's a cheap mod so hey why not! I'm leaving at 5am to go fo-wheelin so I'll get a base mpg towing on that trip and then get another after the sensor install and see what happens with it stacked with the TST. I can't imagine getting even better mileage than I already get though!

I wonder how this would work with other boxes that adjust timing?

Cool, I want to try it just for the better take off from a stop, I hate the timing retard from 3/4 to full throttle from a dead stop.
Did it make a noticable differance in that respect?

Mine arrived a few days ago but I've been busy framing and insulating my basement trying to get the workout/game room ready. Hopefully I'll get it put on this week

I just got back from a trip to the coast pulling my 12,000lb 5vr. Before I left I swiss cheesed the air box, installed the Rokktech sensor, & put on an MBRP muffler. Definate low rpm throttle response empty & towing. Seems to spool up & boost comes up on low end were as before it came on around 2000 rpm. Egt's are down 100* which gave me some more throttle to use when pulling the hills.:D
Didn't noticed any MPG increase (might be do to my new found power:dunno: ) Sure like the sound of the exhaust. It was just too quiet stock, but not as loud as my 01 with the banks exhaust. Going to give it another run to the coast over Thanksgiving on a different route. A few less hills but more curves, alot slower road. Maybe I'll get better milage.

Well it only took me 6 weeks to get it installed
Should have done it sooner. Installed it Tuesday night and Wednesday morning we left NC for a 600 mile drive to PA. A definite low RPM boost in power. Gas mileage is up to. On my last check of highway driving, doing 75mph got me 18-19mpg. This time I was running 75-80mph most of the trip and my lasest mpg according to the overhead was 20mpg up to 21.5. I did however also add a Pace Edwards roll top earlier this week so it isn't really an honest comparison. I did have the whole bed loaded down with clothes, gifts, baby bed (maybe 700lbs?)
The mpg should have been lower this time also due to the switch to the winter grade of fuel. I know my around town mileage was down to 16-17 from 18 just with the fuel switch.
So between the roll top and Rokk sensor I was say a good 2mpg gain waytogo

I did notice a little mpg gain on our trip to the coast & back over Thanksgiving. Before the Rokktech sensor pulling my 5vr I would get 11mpg. After the mods I listed in my previous post I got 12.2 mpg.

I was going to do the tone ring mod but couldn't get the bolts loose & figured the sensor was an easier do.
