    i come here from ck5...being as i just baught a new towrig (new to me anyway) not really sure what the goal for my truck is yet besides towing my chevy toy...so i picked up a 05 dodge 3500 6 speed 4x4 ;p

    42400 when i got it...i put a good 700 on since so far not really all i know is its gonna be used to mainly tow this beast [​IMG]


    first things i wanna do to it are get some gauges...and a bigger exhaust but i have no idea how big of an exhaust to get for a stock motor

    Nice set of rigs. You already have 4", that will be more than enough, Just remove the muffler. You can also remove the CAT if you wanted to . You can get an aftermarket muffler if you wanted. I have the Quadzilla XZT. It's a decent little tow box.

    how does it sound without the muffler and the cat gone? and what are the gains of removeing them rather than replaceing them with something els?

    Not as good as an older 12 or 24V but more throaty than stock. Alot of people complain about midrange droan with a straight setup. I still have my cat and only get the droan when Im a gear to tall while towing. Sounds cool to me though. I guess the gains would be less backpressure without dropping money on a high-flow muffler. A buddy of mine put a magnaflow muffler on his stock system and it has a completely different sound than my straight pipe. A little deeper and rumbly. Sounds good. Im still debating on whether to go with stacks again or just duals.

    Welcome! I would pull both the cat and muffler, and if you need to tone it down add the MBRP muffler replacement kit in soften the tone a bit.
