Okay here is the truck. 2006 Dodge Cummins, crew cab, 4x4, 6 speed, and a long bed. I just installed a two inch level kit on the truck. My question is this. How big of a tire can I put on the truck both with and with out a spacer on the rear wheels? And question two is how big of a spacer will I need for the max sized tires? I was looking a the Super Swamper SSR sized 35x10.5x17's or the 315/70/17's or maybe a 305/70/17's. And if I could get away with it a 295/70/17's without a spacer. What do ya'll think? I am open to all sugestions both on looks and performance. Yes the truck does do some hauling of goosenecks and tags. So, let me know what ya'll think.
35x10.5x17's or the 315/70/17's should be the same size tire and fit fine, you wouldn't need spacers if the back space of the rim is correct.
I plan to use the stock wheels. I cannot afford to purchase new dually wheels as of yet. Do you think that they will still fit well enough? Where would I even start to look for new 17" dually wheels? Thanks again for all the help. LT.
Ahh ok, didn't realize you were talking about a dually, the 315's may still work but don't quote me on that.
Sir, Thanks for all your help. I really do appriciate it. So, if I use the 315's what size of a spacer will I need? Will an inch and a half be enough or will I need the two inch spacer? If I remember the math formulas correctly a 315/70/17 meausres out to be 34.4 inches tall and 12.4 inches wide at the section width and the section height will be 8.7 inches. This would make it not quite as tall as the 35x10.5x17 Super Swamper SSR. The SSR would also be quite a bit narrower and I am hoping that this would translate into not needing a spacer. Interco tire company measures their tires correctly, no fudging here. What do you think? Thanks again for all your time and effort. LT.
