How common is the Allison?

    When I look on auto trader, they make no mention of what kind of trans the truck has. Just the generic term "auto". Was the Allison standard behind the D-max? Can you tell by the VIN if the truck has the Allison tranny?

    I thought the allison was the only auto offered behind the Dmax.

    Yup, the allison is the only auto available behind the D-max in the trucks.

    It is. If the truck has a Dmax or an 8.1L big block, it has an Allison behind it. The smaller 6.0 Small block will have the 4spd 4L80E.
