I know this is gonna vary widely according to where you live and what you do (commercial or non-commercial) but here goes. How many of you guys have trucks and trailers with manufacturers GVWs that add up to weights over 26,001 lbs? Im looking at getting a 20k lbs gooseneck, and with my truck I will be up to a GCW of 31,200 lbs. I will be plated for 32k GVW. In IL, you need a CDL to tow over 10k lbs if your GCW is over 26k, commercial or not. It just got me to thinking about how many people actually have CDLs and tow tandem dual goosenecks. Thanks for the input.
i have a CDK for it, but i got it for driving a different truck. didnt worry about it when driving a 2 ton chevy with a 20k trailer behind it......
