I just installed new edge w/ attitude. I have it on setting 1(want to put a few more miles on new truck). The boost alarm went off the first day. I am worried about how much boost I should be expexting on settings 1-3. Hopefully the alarm was set low for another application. My truck is 2007 5.9 4x4 qc sb. Any help is appreciated

Go to the menu on the attitude and see where the alarm is set at. If its too low then raise it. Your instructions should give you precise directions on how to do this.

Thanks DR I raised it I was just concerned about what it should be. In the 2000 I was used to seeing 27 now I am seing 40 in setting1. I know the newer trucks are making more I am just not sure if this is normal or in range.

I've hit 45psi on steep hills pulling my 5er, doesn't seem to effect the performance or the egt's. On long grades I'm pushing 1100 on the egt gauge, seems to be within reason.

Keep it in the 40 psi range. 45 is a little high, you are pushing alot of drive pressure and you are pushing alot of hot air. I personally feel 38psi is the sweet spot on the 3rd gen

I agree, 45psi is pushing the limit. I try to back-off a bit and keep it under 40psi. It seems to run just as good around that pressure anyway.

The CTD seems to handle the pressure well, as with my previous truck (PSD) 45psi would have been fatal.:doah:

My 2006 handled 65psi well with stock head bolts. Its not a matter of pressure, its a matter of charge temperature and operating the turbo beyond its intended window (overspeeding).

50+ lbs of boost in a 6.0 is asking for trouble. I've had 3 Ford diesels before I bought a Dodge CTD. Change the head gaskets and use Motorcraft head bolts, no need to spend $1300 on fancy head bolts.
Just to be on the safe side...;)

Thanks for the replys. I turned off the edge and stock it will make 38psi in 3rd gear(Auto locked up converter) with no trailer. I pull a 4000 lb boat almost all of the time. I am curious to see what kind of boost it will make when I put the boat behind it and turn up the box. I have the egt limited to 1350. I need to put a few miles on it before I turn it up, but I will post some #'s whenI do

Thats because of the boost fooling in the chip. The Map sensor never sees enough boost to tell the wastegate to open up. For longevity of the turbo, there is a control kit you can install to operate the wastegate mechanically.

Can I do the same thing by limiting the boost with the attitude or not. How much is the kit and at what boost should I activate the wastegate
