Looks like we are getting enough traffic to break out the Dodge forums, but how should we do it, would like your input.

Should we breakout by 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen, or should we break it out by 12v (89-98.5) and 24v 98.5-present?

I honestly still feel there isn't enough traffic yet, but if everyone else has something better in mind I'm all for it.

FWIW, When the time comes, I would break them down as follows (without getting into too many sub-catagories)

    1st Gen - All Topics

    2nd Gen - 94 - 98 (note: not 98.5) 12v engine

    2nd Gen - 98.5 - 02 24v engine

    3rd Gen

As the traffic volume increases, the 2nd and 3rd Gen forums could be broken down further into separate drive line and performance sub forums but I agree that the traffic may not be there yet to justify that. Seaprating too few people will stop or slow the interaction of the different members of the forum.

I guess it's best to leave it to the Dodge Mods, but I think breaking down into too many forums will dilute the quality of topics and posts. Maybe break it down by topic instead of engines and trucks. Dodge: Towing and Dodge: Performance and Dodge: General discussion. I dunno.

At this time lets atleast split the plug'n'players from those who have to open the hood to go faster:stir: . The latest posts in the Dodge Diesel Engine Rigs have had little to do with the Mechanical pump guy's. Time to split!
Actually I don't care to even talk Dodges as long as it has a 12 Valve Cummins you'll be welcome. Hint, hint.waytogo So leave the foo foo to the 24 Valvers and let us 12 Valvers free to get our hands dirty "warranty free":D

    Well, I'll give you that....

But you can remember that in a mechanical world anything later is always superior in almost every way than it's prodacessor earlier model.:D

Well as much as I hate to say it your right as far as the ergonomics of a new Rig. But you can keep the electronics out from underneath the hood in my perfect world.

I would say for now, break it down: 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen.

As posting volume goes up break it down again.
