So my hydroboost is not working AKA i have manual brakes on my truck right now How do i test em? What can go wrong with them? Can i replace/rebuild it to make it better? I noticed the belts are a bit worn on the truck so i am going to replace em tonight/tomorrow but other than that??? Pump has fluid in it so i would think the hydroboost does also. Stew
Well it kind of works. It squeels when i try and turn the wheel at low speed. i think the belt is slipping is my main issue with this thing. my new ? is how the hell do you get any leverage on the PS pump to tighten the belt? Stew
Depends, it can be tough. Some brackets have provisions for tool attachment, either square drive or pry bar/screwdriver. They also make a turn buckle thing to go on the pully. Just please don't go prying on the "can"...
Yeah tighten the belt, inspect the fluid, check for kinked or damaged hoses and if that dose'nt do it and the belt still squeals then it MAY be your pump not putting out enough pressure to give brake assist.
Dwitcher- I am leaning toward a bad pump, i have retightened the pump again and it still squeals like a stuck pig whenever i turn the wheel at an idle. Stew
