I ordered the MBRP 4" cat back exhaust and an AFE stage 2 intake with the dry filter. I am already running the Edge juice with Altitude. I was wondering what to expect. I dont have a problem with egt's I only tow around 4000 lbs regularly. I would like to see an improvemet in mileage and sound though.

I have the same exact exhaust and intake set up as you and I love it. You’ll DEFINITELY hear the whine from the turbo more and exhaust will be more pronounced. When towing or when getting on the skinny pedal it’ll growl more and have that “big rig sound” but while cruising you don’t have that dull roar or drone inside the cab. In fact, in my opinion while cruising it isn’t too much louder than stock…which is exactly what I wanted. As far as egt’s go, I didn’t have any gauges on my rig when it was still stock so I can’t tell you what kind of egt drop to expect. I can tell you that even with my TST set at 3/3 and towing my K5 rock crawler and car trailer (probably around 9-10k combined) going up some steep nor-cal grades/mountains I usually maintain around 900-1000 all day long. While cruising unloaded…I’m about 550-650.

I got it on and put about three hundred miles on this weekend. The exhaust is a little louder and has a better tone. The turbo whine and intake is much ouder. It sounds like the air conditioning is on high when the turbo is spooled up. The egts dropped maybe 100 degrees on average. I did notice when on level ground at 65 mph the boost is around 9 where it was around 6. Maybe easier airflow? So far I am happy it looks like the gas mileage is going to be better by about 1.5-2 also.
