the edge has ran great for the past couple weeks and the other day i put it on 5x5 and it barley smoked and would take off kind of slow and act like the trans is slipin but the fuel isnt there because the egt's arent very high(900 max) i dont know the fuel pressure because edge didnt send me the fuel pressure senceor but any ideas ?? hope it aint the vp
i did some testing today, the truck set on stock worked fine and ran strong. set on 1 it would take off good and then act like it was de-fueling. it did the same thing on all the other settings. driving normal these problems arent noticed when i drive around town, its only when i get on it that screws up. i dont get it, it ran fine one day and the next it aint right?
ok i finally got the fuel pressure sensor on and it is 9 at idle and 1 at WOT on every setting including stock, so i order a big line kit the other day but should i go ahead and get a holley and put it on to? anyway i was driving the truck tonight and on 5x5 i can floor it and never touch 1200 on the egt's and it cant build over 17lbs of boost WTF! i did the performance test and the 1/4 was 17.5@80mph and the 0-60 was 10.7, and i raced my dads totally stock mega cab dually with an auto and he out ran me. so what do yall think could fixing the fuel pressure issue get back my power or is it something else? and the lights on the module are all on constantly, but i thought that they where supost to be scrolling
Suggested lowest pressure ot WOT is 4 psi. I would get a different method of testing the fuel pressure, other then the monitor from edge, and retest or replace the transfer pump to safe.
Of course you need to change the pump, if it's not working right, then you would want to fix it.... I'd be ordering a new pump setup long before a big fuel line kit. For one, you don't need the big line kit at your power level and priorities my friend!!! You need to get fuel to the engine! Worry about the pump first, then maybe the bling fuel line kit. Your truck is likely slow because you have no fuel getting to the engine....
well turns out it was a bad connection with the vp tap wire so i soddered it and it works great! and got the fuel pressure isue fixed to
Why not just use a pump cover?? Now, if you ever have an issue with the chip or the pump, the only way to remove either is to cut it. Did you wrap the connection up with tape or something? Note to all - The pump cover is not very expensive when you consider how much easier it makes the job, and how much cleaner the install is.
