What changes were made from the LB7 to the LLY motor??? and also which one is better for performance applications? Thanks....
Let's see, the head was redesigned for better access to the injectors. The intake track is totally different. Variable Vane turbo. EGR on all trucks. Bump in stock power. I haven't hung out on the performance boards much in months, but when I was still there, the LLY was not up to snuff with bombed LB7's. However, it is entirely possible they worked that out. I think the chip makers were having a hard time with the programming for the VVT. I think the new LBZ Duramax will rule the roost soon though. Marc
Bring it on, BURT! waytogo You have no idea how much difference my custom spindle huckers make! I have to admit that your truck drives pretty darn nice though, I would say that stock-for-stock, there is more power there off-idle in the LLY than in the LB7.
hahaha I was worried about your Tweedle Ports hahhaaarotfl :stir: That's right you did drive my rigwaytogo waytogo See Ya Burt
The LB7 is the top dog right now but van Aaken has came out with a 180 HP program for the LLY that works great. The 180 is probably the biggest best thing for them right now and stacks well with most downloaders also. waytogo
