I was towing my fifth wheel camper the other day and all of a sudden 3 miles from the house the truck starts with the loudest racket I have ever heard. all my gauges looked normal, and it still pulled fine. I pulled off the road and as best I could determined that the noise is coming from the bottom of the truck. I started the truck back up and took it the rest of the way home. I found that if I kept it under a load, the noise went away. If I reduced speed by letting off the throttle it was noisy, If I let it idle, it was noisy. If I kept it under a load it sounded normal. I have been told the flex plates were bad to crack. and that is where the noise seems to be coming from. Is there any way to inspect the flex plate or torque convertor without pulling the transmission? Has any one had the same experience? I drive a early 2004 2500 auto 2WD 3:73 gears.
    Please help !!!!
