Who makes what for the 6.5 turbo diesel??? From my brief search, Edge, Banks - no one makes anything for it other than an exhaust.

Who makes stuff for the 6.5??????

By the way, Brisk, have you done the FSD Heat Sync to your '98 yet?? How did you like it? Why did you go with it? What else are you going to do to it, and what are you going to do for more power/torque? 'Preciate it.

I did the FSD heat sink and it works great. I did it for its super easy install and i thought that the kits that moved them under the cab or behind the bumper were just overkill. I already had a new PMD that I got from a friend so I didnt need any warrenty. I want to do the Power package from SSdieselsupply w/ the intake/Exhaust/ECM/guages but I need to save the money first. Unfortunatly these engines dont have the aftermarket support that the D-Max/Cummins/P-stroke have but they can still be made to tow pretty well with the mods that are available. Dont expect to pull hills as fast as a D-Max but you will smoke all of the gassers. I want to get some new torsion bar keys to give the front about 2-3" of lift and put airbags in the back for a possible future 5th wheel trailer. What about you? what are your plans?

I'm looking at buying a GM diesel, but I can't afford the price range of anything with a D-max in it, but trucks with the 6.5 are in my price range.... Problem with that is that I want a manual, but I've never seen a 6.5 with a manual behind it - although the D-max's had one behind it. Sucks. Now I just have to find one in good shape, convince myself I'll be happy with an automatic, and make sure I don't expect more from it then it's capable of.

One in particular I'm looking for at is a '96 crew cab dually, 6.5, 4L80E with 120,000 miles on it. It's lowered :doah: , and has air bags and a C-notch in the rear.... I pull goosenecks. It didn't occur to me until just now that the gooseneck ball bolts to the frame where the C-notch is, so I wouldn't be able to put a ball in this trucks bed. So, well....uhh....damn. Shiat!!!

Unfortunately you may want to look nationwide. I lived in Ohio and was in the process of moving back to California when I bought my truck off of E-Bay in Phoenix AZ. These arent the most common trucks built so you may need to travel a bit to find what you want.

Already doing that.... I'd love to find a 6.5TD with a 5 speed manual, GMC, crew cab, dually, 4x4, fully loaded, not used and abused.... I'm looking. Unfortunately, it's looking like auto's are all I'm finding in the GMC's, and the Chevy's with the manuals are all beat up work trucks.... This sucks.

Oh, and Brisk, did you notice a power gain/increase with the Heat Sync? What exactly does the Heat Sync do? I read about it on their website, but I'm still confused.

no there is no power increase. The FSD (Fuel Solonoid Driver) aka PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) is a little black box mounted on the Injection Pump. It controls the flow of fuel to the engine. In the stock location they get really hot and when they cannot be cooled they fail. This will allow your truck to not start and possibly die while on the road. All the cooler does is relocate the unit to an area of better air flow and the cooler actually uses conduction to keep the PMD cool and not allow it to fail. it is strictly for reliability purposes.

See if the guy will give you some pics to post up here.... I don't like the fact that it's an x-cab, but I can consider it.

Yes, I did buy a truck about 6 weeks ago. But I didn't get one with a 6.5. Check your PM's, and I'll let you in on 'project'.

    got one for ya ...

Big94 ... i have a 1996 K2500 Ex-cab long bed, with 125K miles, 5 speed, 6" procomp lift, 35" Dick Cepek tires, MT classic rims, 140DB air horn, goose neck ready, drop bumper, reese hitch, 4 6 and 8 prong hookup, sterio system, SS brush guard, chrome head ech rack, Heath Diesel boost controller, and passenger side battery relocated to bed for custom "cold air" intake. CKresto.com grey carpet replacing the rubber mat that it had

the only downside to the truck is .. it needs a FSD .. the truck runs but started hesitating yesterday. im selling everything for $14,500. if you are interested and still would like a 6.5L with a manual trans. let me know. the HeathDiesel.com PMD-FSD kit is $560 or something around there with a 7 year warantee.

The truck is a Cheyenne and has manual everything, but does have tilt wheel and cruise control. all the badging except for the "2500" on both doors were removed.
