I have a 03 HO. I would like to hear from someone that has either done this or is a cummins mechanic. I am gonna have my block bored cause the cyl walls are messed up. My question is how far can I go before I have to worry bout overheating and such? Or should I just bore it and sleeve it? I will be doing some towing. I have a juice w/att, intake, exhaust, flux 1.3 injectors. Thanks for any help.

Ok, first of all, why are the walls trashed?

Second, if you don't want to rebuild it again, ditch the injectors. Flux injectors are nothing but trouble.

You can order pistons and rings in several sizes. What we need to know is how much do you have to bore it to clean them up. Not a final bore and hone, but how much until the gouges are gone? Last one we built took .016" to clean up, so we used .020" pistons.

Give me a call and I can go over the whole process with you.
