I just got a 99 F-350, 4X4, 7.3, Auto with 150,00 miles.(my first diesel) The previous owner towed a three car trailer from Detroit to Chicago with it about once a week and it set the rest of the time. The guy before him put a K&N cold air intake on it and some kind of tuner, I'm guessing Edge because of the residual mounting tape behind the filter. I bought a Hypertech power programmer III used on Ebay, loaded it up, put it in my glove box, drove it around and it did worse than before. Two weeks later I had a warning light while I was pulling a hill with my skid loader on the trailer behind me, I pulled out the programmer to check the code (and possibly revert to the previous settings (I dont know if that will work or not) and the programmer wont even power up. HELP, where do I go from here, any and all advice is welcome to this diesel first timer.
