my cps just went out on my ford,i was driving down the road then the rpms started dropping then jumpin back then it would stall,i could restart almost every time, drive a quarter mile and it would die again.its basically tells the computer when the engine is turning,so the computer can send the right amount of fuel, when when that quits responding to the computer, the computer thinks the key is turned off,so its shuts of fuel then your all done, someone correct me if im wrong, and i drive a ford.
