Just out of curiousity, what did you like better? I went from a 95 dodge Cummins 5 spd to my 02 Dmax. I loved the Cummins low end power, and it was just a beast of a truck. It could go anywhere!!! But I like the Dmax better over all. It pulls the hills with a load better. Not to mention its a hot rod. Tranny shifts so fast and smooth!!waytogo

Just out of curiousity have you heard what the strait pipe sounds like outside of the cab? I used to have my 02 D-max strait piped until I heard my wife take off in it one day. Sounded like crap. Sounded good in the cab. None the less I had a 4 inch strait thru muffler welded in a couple days after I heard it outside the cab. Mine doesn't have a cat so it may sound better if you have a cat.

At low acceleration it dosent have that nice rumble, only at hard acceleration is where it sounds really mean and aggresive. So yeah, Ive heard it outside the cab and I know what your talking about. But, when you stand on it and it starts to rip and roar, it sounds good!!!!

As long as you like it, that's what matters. I am looking at putting a full exhaust, turbo back, and a programmer in the future as soon as I get the outside cosmetics done (rims, truck box, lights). Can't decide if I want to go 5 inches or not. Probably stick with the 4 inch. Buddy put a 5 inch Motoblue on his F-250 and is having some clearence issues with the body and the pipe.

Id stick with 4". You really only need 5" when your putting out 500 rwhp or more. Which programer ar you thinking of going with?

May go with the Diablosport Predator programmer. Buddy of mine had one for his lightning and he liked it. I heard good things about it on other sites for the D-max. RPMoutlet.com has them for $399. Trying to stay away from the change on the fly ones cause I know I will keep putting it up to the performance mode. I won't be able to resist.
