I have a 2003 7.3 powerstroke. Ran great till 65,000 miles now it will just quit. The fire just goes out. I slip back into neutral and I can restart it but it can get dangerous It did happen in an intersection pulling a trailer. I went to dealer and they said since it wasn't happening now they could not help. Any Ideas? Thanks

That is a fairly common failure mode for the cam position sensor. Unfortunately it test good when it is working. It will get progressively worst. It is a fairly easy do it yourself changeout. 1 connector & 1 bolt. Do not purchase the replacement from Ford unless you like paying out the big dollars for parts. Any international dealer can supply this and NAPA is reasonable also.
