I found a 02 2500HD with the D/A combo and had myself talked into buying it, but it has 95,000 miles on it. I'm worried about future service and life of the drive train, anyone think they could talk me into going back and pick it up? I test drove it pulling my blazer and it was a day and night difference from the 6.0 liter but the miles scare me. Thanks

All I can say is I LOVE mine, but I wouldn't begin to try to talk someone into a truck sight unseen, particularly when they already have a bad feeling enough to "walk away".

I also LOVE mine. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with that mileage. I would have the VIN ran though just to see what kind of history is behind it.

Whats the problem? The truck is still like brand new given the PO took care of it. I bought my truck with 101K and it's like brand new. It just depends on how the PO took care of it as a whole.

I bought a similar truck about a year ago with 106K.Had my reservations too,but bought it anyway.Al it needed was a steering idler(front tires were wearing funny)and new tires. No other problems, great truck.I think these trucks are made a lot better than they used to be.Just think of the $20K you will be saving over buying a new one.You might need to put a little money in it,but it should go 300K-500K.

I wouldn't hesitate on buying the truck, but run the vin history, contact po if possible, and think of the room you have to play compared to forking out that big load on a new one.my fav's are the 04 and 05's.good luck:cool:

95K? As long as it looks like it has been taken care of I would get it. I have 170K on my '02 and it still runs like a champ. It had over a 100K on it when I bought it. Go to www.thedieselplace.com and scroll down. There is a place on there where you can request an VIN check. You'll need to get a log on. Really good site for Chevy. If you take care of the truck you should get a minimum of 200K out of it.
