Went to fill the truck up this morning and noticed the O/D light was flashing on the shift lever. As i was driving i noticed that it was shifting harder then normal. It wasnt slipping or doing anything else out of the ordinary. Just shifting hard and the light was flashing.

Going to go get the codes checked later and hope it isnt anything too bad.

Any idea's on what it might be ?

not sure about ford, but i had something kinda similar with my dodge. it ended up being the temp sending unit inside the tranny. it was about 100 for the part and i did it myself. hope its ok and doesnt cost alot to fix!

Took it to the shop and the guy couldnt find anything wrong. He cleared the codes and we took it for a drive and he said everything looked normal on his computer.

He said it may have been a spec of dirt sticking inside the solenoid that tripped the code.

It tripped the Trans slip code. forgot the number.

cleared it and all is good now. at least for now anyway.

On a good note i found out i'm putting out right about 450 ft/lbs of torque according to his computer readout.
