believe it or not, camping world in Las Vegas is the only place i can find in the city that will install a pacbrake on my rig. i found a couple of people that would install a BD brake, and PDI in St. George installs em, but not if they don't sell them to you first. i just don't see any way i can do it by myself. maybe if they had a video or a better illustrated instruction manual, but what they include for instructions leaves a lot to be desired. anyone out there ever installed one themselves??
How about telling us what truck you are wanting to install a PacBrake on and what model brake. I did a 06 Dodge CTD and did not have any issues with the instructions.
I'm assuming you have a dodge. Just follow the instructions, as you get into the install they will make sense. I did search and found a set of install instructions for the Jacobs for the Dodge, and that helped with the electrical part of the install. Remove both wheel well liners, being careful to disconnect the abs wires, this will help with getting in there with the parts. For installing the pins in the ecm, just remove the block from the ecm, and use a paper clip to remove the water proof plug. The only difficult thing that I had to cope with was getting the exhaust pipe to line up with the brake. Ended up using a bottle jack under the pipe to help move it into place. Remember to retorque the bands after a few heat cycles.
I usually opt for the BD brake as I like the mounting provisions for the Compressor better. Both brakes work well. installation should be very striaght forward. Did you get the turbo or remote mounted PRXB? Turbo mount is the simplest. Basically, remove the elbow on the back of the turbo going to the downpipe and replace it with the Pac. 2 V band clamps is all that is. Next up is wiring and pressure hose routing. Prety basic there, instructions should cover all that.
