Does anyone use or know about the Striker modules? They are made in Ft. Worth,Tx and from what I have read seem to do what I want. I don't need a hot rod, just want better mpg.
Never heard of them. I'd suggest using a tried and true product like edge, etc. As far as mpg gain, doen't expect much, maybe .1 or .2 mpg better. There more of a performace box(s). Now for ME, towing with my edge box on, I get 2-3 more mpgs. JME
if you are looking for something that cost effective go with Quadzilla. They are made in Texas and are not the latest and greatest thing to hit the market. They have been around for many years, and have proven both reliable and practical.
They are made by the guys that make the painless wiring products for street rods and race cars.I have used their products in the past and they all work great. If you asked 10 different people about which one ( programer, module, chip, etc.) is best, you would get 10 different answers. I was just aking if anyone currently had one on their truck, how they liked it.
Just Installed the Striker 1 I bought the Striker 1 by Painless Products . Jegs.Com had the best price,$359 plus a $50 mail in rebate. It is very simple to install and took around 30 minutes to hook it up. The control unit is small and can be mounted just about anywhere. It also has a built in fuel pressure and boost gauge and a anti-theft mode. I have been using it on the fuel economy mode and my mpg have increased between 2-4 miles. The only complaint I have about it is there are 10 different settings that you can use,but the manual doesn't explain what each one does with HP/Torque #s. I went to Painless Products to see if I could get some info on the different settings, but couldn't get any firm answers from the tech. I guess I will have to do some dyno time and find out for myself what each program does.
4 MPG increase so far Ever since I bought this truck it has gotten 14-15 mpg, after I installed the Striker 1 I set it on the fuel eco setting and it got 2 more mpg. I talked to the guys at painless products and was told to try settings 4-6,so I set it on 5 and after the 1st tank I,m getting 19.1 mpg. Stock around 475 miles per tank FE around 560 miles per tank #5 around 650 miles per tankwaytogo
