Hello all.Need some help with a new modual.I currently have the hot edge with attitude but getting rid of it.I cant seem to get one that last more than 3 months before it starts acting up.Edge keeps sending me new ones 5 since last February saying each time that they have fixed the glitch.Needles to say I am done with them.I love all the safety features of the edge but want something that work and is a little more aggressive.I don't want any thing that I have to reflash the factory program. So any help with this would be great.

Sounds like a TST pmcr is your next option although I am not a fan.

Wow, sorry to hear about the problem with Edge.

I got one of the first of a "new design" back in 2003 or so. New design had a higher setting, better curves, new features, and supported the "Attitude" and such. Unfortunately, when Summer heat came on, it had a "no crank when hot" issue. I was one of the first few to report it and worked with them as a test case (Phoenix in the Summer, doesn't get much hotter), all on their dime, and after a few shots with varying success, I got what became (IIRC?) the "4.16" version that AFAIK still is running the LB7s (though I've not been tracking in a while). That same module still runs my truck today with no further problems of any kind.

In short, my experience with Edge has been one of the best "customer service" AND quality/reliability experiences I've experienced. Seems like the guy I was working with was named Craig? Or am I confusing with ATS? <shrug>

Just adding my experience. No idea why you've had such bad luck, I hope your next choice serves you better...

I had pretty good luck with the Bully Dog Tripple Dog setup on a customer's truck (DMax, at previous job). It had all the same saftey features that Edge w/attitude has.

to many codes, needs twins to take full advangage, to expensive for the headache. I have personally had two customers with burned up turbo''s, its just a headache. Go with bully dog/superchip/ppe.

I personally like the TST. We have used alot of them and never had any trouble. TST can take out a stock turbo but you can see in his sig. that he has upgraded to a BD Super B. The TST has the digital gauge and also comes equipped with a turbo cool down timer. Bullydog has a nice product but it is not going to be more agressive than a HOT juice and there is most likely going to be problems with the Outlook monitor. With the Bullydog you do have the ability to read the codes though.

I've never experienced any trouble codes with my TST. I run the "mild" program, and have no experience with the "twins" or "old" program. So far about 5000 miles into it, the stock turbo is intact, and I have only had one trouble code since I installed the TST, and that was because I forgot to reconnect the wire to the air box after I reinstalled that after the upgrade. After a couple key cycles that went away and I've never had another trouble code issue. It seems to be almost a concensus that DTC's and the TST are commonly caused by grounding issues, etc.

It's just a matter of self control, I understand if I run it on level 9/9, there's a good chance I'll burn up something I'd rather not. For me the beauty of the TST box is it's something I can "grow into" so to speak, or as I upgrade the rest of the truck, I can just bump up the box without having to ditch it and get a bigger one.

I've got over 20,000 miles mostly towing on my TST, never a problem.

TST hands down. Of course your going to blow your turbo if you don't control yourself. The whole point of a TST is to grow into it. You can run the lower settings and be easy on the throttle as in letting off slowly and not barking the turbo. If you go out and run 9/9 first time out it's your own fault for blowing your truck up.

I've never had any trouble codes with my TST either, just glorious power, but of course I have an SO truck and can take more advantage of it...

Hey thank you all for the info. The TST was the one I was looking at so I made my choice and ordered it along with a new ATS trans and twins. After I install all the new parts I will post my dyno numbers.Hoping for over 700 hp.

Don't forget that people have been reporting that the TST is draining the fuel rail and losing hp on the higher settings.
There has been some talk on TDR about a modded cp3 pump that was just released.
May also want to stack a pressure box with it.

Oh ya your probably going to need 150 gph fuel pump.

I will also be getting a TST in the near future and ditching the troublesome xzillaraider.

get that rig on a dyno and let us know how you make out.

You'll definetly need a fuel system upgrade, and making 700 hp with twins and propane will require at least a set of head studs for any longevity.
