Thinking about getting a power invertor to take along on trips, any thing I should look for as far as power or other?

I have a Coleman Powermate 800 that I take with me on the trail. I have used it to run my 3/8" hammer drill before. I carry my sawzall, grinder, and drill on the trail. The 800 Watt invertor will run those things.

What do you want to run? For the tow rig or the Blazer?

I've thought about it, but I generally can't figure out where I would use it. I've got most stuff in 12V including laptop adapters for kids playing games or watching DVDs, powered cooler/warmer chest, cell phone, lights, various adapters for game-boys and the like, etc. My father (RV sales and service) had a nice one that I could have gotten very cheaply but just couldn't convince myself it was worth the cost, trouble and space. <shrug>

I could plug in our 12" TV/VCR combo for the boy on road trips. :D

Rob has a small one he uses inside the cab of the Cummins to plug stuff into to entertain his 2 kids on road trips. Might ask him about the inverter he has. It was small and plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.

I have a 300 watt (400 watt is the largest you can plug into cig lighter), and it will power a 25" TV and Dish Network reciever with no problems. I use it all of the time on trips. My wife loves playing video games on the road, so we keep her laptop charged with it.
