I've never heard any discussion anywhere on this topic, So I guess there must be an issue with my power steering. I have an 02 2500 with 315/75 tires, there are times when my ps won't turn my wheels at all when I'm not moving. Yes it's worse when it is cold out and worse when the truck is not wormed up but it still never really goes away. I plan on going to 285/75's soon but I'm still wondering if I have a ps issue or guys running big tires upgrage there system. I never hear anybody complaining about it and I never read or hear anything about ps upgrades for over size tires.

I went to 35's about a year ago. I didn't notice any difference going from 285/75-16, but I run them at full pressure almost all the time, due to towing the 5th wheel. I've aired them down for some off road fun, and noticed a little harder turning, but not to the extent that I thought something was up.

I'd maybe look a little deeper or see what others have to say.

Having the same problem, replaced the PS pump when i bought the truck cause of leaks, its a rebuild. Wondering if thats the problem, i also have 315's. i know there are some tricks to get more psi out a pump iv learned from wheeling. maybe they work the same on these pumps.

I presume you're still having the problem? I think it may be dodges' ps pump, otherwise why haven't more guys had this problem when putting on bigger tires? I wish there was an after market unit to try... I'm really curious how it behaves after I put on 285/75's. Let you know but it may be a while before I wear these out.

My 99 on 315s does the same thing. Never at a good time either.

what kind of fluid you going with? how do you boost the pump? Had any trouble with your FASS below 1/4 tank?

Fluid wise, the shop i worked at used justic brothers fluid and it seemed to help quiet ford pumps and is just an all around good fluid so i was gonna run 50/50 with atf+4.

Boosting the pump has to do with the adding a few verry small washers into the bypass valve it can boost pressure by about 10-20%.
I Did it on my old wheeler before i could afford hydro steering. i was turning 35" with a stock pump(modified) with ease. I could tell a difference on the road too.

As for the FASS With the price of diesel right now my truck is around a 1/4 tank almost all the time, havnt had a problem yet. It died once on me the day after i put the pump in but i figured it was just an air bubble in the filter or something and caused it to loose the prime.

I still need to get a fuel pressure gauge though :doah:
