we have a 95 superduty at work, runs like a champ but since its at 10,000 empty it pretty much a dog. usually its haulling a couple ton and pulling a trailer which is 3-4 ton.. what are my options for boosting the power? has to still be able to tow heavy loads safely without extreme EGT's.
i was thinking maybe a free flowing exhaust and a tow friendly chip. any suggestions or real world experiences?

I'd go for a simple chip with a decent exhaust first and see how much that helps. The early Powerstroke was on the fronteir of direct injection and ECM technology when it came out ten years ago. Now with today's ECM's you just plain can't get a monster 100+HP chip for the early PSD like you can a new one.

Try the chip and exhaust. If thats not enough than I don't know what to say. I don't know of a lot of stuff available for that early of an electronic motor.

They are far and few for early Fords and GM's. Try Edge performance.

Edge, Banks, Bullydog, and there are others that make products for you. The non intercooled powerstroke has plenty of aftermarket support.

One thing, though, make sure you get a good set of guages if you put a chip on it. Those early powerstrokes like to get hot fast, especially when towing.

Id personally go with the Bullydog 6 position chip . They really wake up those early powerstrokes. On position 3, my friends f-250 loaded with about a 8-9K pound gooseneck can outrun my unloaded 6.2 in trail trim.
