    Hello guys
My new to me, dodge diesel cummins 04, quad, 2500 4x4 long bed, love it so far, But the stock 17 tires/wheels are way to small for the look of the truck. Q. do I need to raise the body or front end to put on larger rubber, and how big can or should I go, dont need it jacked through the roof, just want it to not look like a low rider he he :pimp: , proportional thats all :bling:
    Thanks in advance waytogo

You should be able to fit 33's at stock heigth. With a front leveling kit for the front suspension you should be able to clear 35's. Don't do a body lift, either level it or use a complete suspension lift.

Ditto. Unless the truck is just for show and you won't be hauling anything, I would never body lift a 3/4 ton truck. Especially when lifting the SFA rigs is so cheap.

285/75/17's are a 33.4 in most treads and dont look bad. you CAN go to a 315/75/17, 35 inches or so, BUT you have to find a way to lift the front 2 inches or more. this is the ONLY reason i wish i didnt have a 2WD..... no lift options out there.

Raised body on a HD truck = bad idea .......
I agree with the others up above - go mild suspension lift if you need more clearance.

LT33x12.50R17's will fit and no rubbing on OEM wheels.
LT35x12.50R17's will rub only slightly on hard lock-to-lock turns, when using OEM wheels.
Aftermarket wheels with the different backspacing causes many problems and rubbing issues when going with larger tires.

I am amazed at how often this question comes up. I am assuming it is because people see suspension lifts for a grand and body lifts for 150 bucks. But none of them know what all is involved with a body lift. Yes, the strength issue is huge, but how about relocating that big a## radiator, intercooler, and AC condenser, or your shifter being all screwwy! The right way is rarely the cheapest route, but always the best!

BTW - I vote against the body lift, in case you couldn't tell!:poke:

im still debating on whether to get 295/70/17 nittos or 315/70/17 bfg's... but if i lifted anything it would be coil spring spacers in the front... not a body lift
