My bud has the running lights on top of his 2500 cab like the 1-tons. I want to do the same thing to mine since I like the look. Has anyone done this and where could I buy these....dealer only?

YOu can get amber, clear, and smoked through an aftermarket company. They advertise in Diesel Power a lot. The install would probably be a nightmare though, you would have to pull the a pillar and headliner out to do the wiring and drill the holes.

I might have to call the dealer and see how much they would charge, but I am kind of afraid:confused:

I would rather have them do it than me:rolleyes:

I believe the dealerships use a template when they install the lights so they know where they go, but I have heard that one dealership messed up on someones install and one of the lights was to far back or something, at that point it's to late, scary.

Yah, that would really suck. That's why I wouldn't mind paying the cash to have them do it. That way if they F it up, they have to pay to fix it, not me:doah:

I love those damn running lights though, gotta have em':pimp:

you can buy a kit from the dealership. a few months back they were not identicle in shape to the factory installed sets. my 3500 short box has them and i changed them out to the clear. i have been told it is not hard to instal them. 3 holes per light. 2 small and one larger. put the nylon inserts in, run the wires and bolt the lights down.

I would at least get a dealer estamate first. I have heard of people getting the cab lights installed for under $200 including all parts and hardware. Plus If you don't like the way it was done they can fix it on there dime or if it starts to leak you have someone to fall back on .

You might want to try a good body shop before going to a dealer. It should be a bit cheaper.
