i have a triple dog power pup downloader and switch between towing/economy and performance mode. what will happen if i try extreme mode and maybe beyond (crazy larry)?? so far i haven't had the guts to try either. i also notice that i get better mileage when not towing if i switch to performance mode. different story when i'm towing though.

Unless you already have a built up tranny or a clutch that can handle it (I did not see which tranny you have) I would stay away from the extreme and the Crazy Larry setting. Yes, the motor can handle it, your rear end can handle it to some degree, rear tire wear will become an issue, but the tranny will start to slip (if an auto) or the clutch will not hold on for long (if standard). Now for the good news. Your mileage should go up if (and this is a big IF) you can keep your foot out of it. It has been my experience that the more power you feed your rig the better the mileage. Problem is that all that added power is like a misquioto bite. Once you get the itch you keep on scratchin'. I don't have any experience with the Crazy Larry setting only the tow, performance, and the extreme settings.

Don't go too crazy without a built transmission and / or sufficient airflow to keep the exhaust temperatures under control; or else you'll be spending money on stuff you don't want to spend money on.
