i still need to pull them off, cut about 8 inches off of them, then put them back on with a bit more of an outward angle on them. i also need to put my Aero Turbine in the system. a bit loud and raspy for my taste...

    Stacks

A friend had some about the height you are talking about cutting yours to on his Ford and they covered his backglass and tailgate with soot.

But his were cut off straight up with a 45.

    Looks cool.

    goose neck... lol
i need to put the muffler in, that is for sure. ill get to it sooner or later. i dont need to move the trailer any time soon, and if i do it will be a short distance.

this is another reason i will be angling them out a bit. to get the sound pointed out a bit more.

it was up for sale, as is anything else in life, but not for a going price. i was testing the market. i would like to have something paid off, and a payment i can dump into a truck or guns each month, but i have too much into it now to let it go. ill just make it a dually and work on paying it off faster. it is still for sale, but i cant think of a sane person to pay what i want for it now... lol

actually if you cut the tops a little so they are an angled tip instead of a 90 degree
or even a mitre cut would look better

but they make baffled inserts for the stacks to quiet them down

i thought about this route as well, but i think, even though i wanted miter cuts in black to begin with, that with the curved tips and pointing them out a bit more will look better than it does now and direct sound away more as well.

we will see. i can always change it later.

i bought everything over a couple months time at the local big rig shop. i saved a TON of money doing this. i have a total of 397.** into them. everything is grand rocks pipes, and the quality is great. i think i will be removing the stacks i have now for some 7 inch black slash cuts. it will be a while before i do it, but i think thats whats going to happen.

i price checked online and i found kits without stacks from 295.00 to 495.00. add the cost of stacks, anywhere from 70.00 to 250.00 to that and you can see why i did it on my own.

i removed the cat, and will be putting th emuffler i had back in eventually as its a bit much for my tastes. all ya would need for a dodge is a 90 elbow for under the bed, a T, and two 90 degree bends for the stacks. if you mix and match sizes like me then the addaptors and clamps for everything. i bought a lot more parts than you would need if you went with one size. my system goes 4 inch theough the T then jumps up to 5 inch. thats where it gets spendy. all the extra stuff. im sure i could get it all for a hundred less than i paid if i kept it 5 inch. the most expensive part is the stacks and the T. everything else is cheap. flex pipe is real cheap, and right now i have a 4.5 foot section where the muffler will be going.

If those are 5", which they look like, then you are at about the same price as a bed kit and stacks.
    Bed kit includes -
    4" intlet, 5" y pipe
    4" 90* elbow
    4"x12" flex
    all necessary clamps

Grand Rock is the only way to go. The Silverline and MBRP stack kits are pretty spendy. I have yet to have any issues with a Grand Rock set.

Diesel Nut, i was wrong on that price i sent you the other day. i had added in the "extra" parts i bought. i have since taken them back and totaled up the other day when a friend was talking about it.

anywho, as for all of the prices i have seen, the in bed kit is clost to as much as the stacks alone. the stacks and the T were the most expensive parts. the rest is nickel and dime or better yet 5 to 10 dollars... had i gont with a straight 5 inch system, i would have saved a LOT more. they give me a GREAT price break on anything in the store. problem is i dont have a big rig... otherwise i would be there ALL the time... lol
