My 2000 4x4 suddenly quit starting a few days ago. It won't turn the engine, though the relay clicks in the power distribution center. If I bypass the relay and jump +12v to the solenoid contact, it starts up OK. I checked the relay socket in the power conditioning center and I'm not getting +12v at contact 30. I'm using the Haynes manual and it is general for years 1994 thru 2001. The circuit diagram in the manual shows a 40A fuse supplying contact 30, but there is no fuse marked like that on my truck. All the other 40A fuses (4) check out fine. So I have two questions: Where the heck is that fuse located, and is there a better manual, or at least wiring diagrams, available for this model ?
