SO i had a thread on my fass droping the fuel pressure when slowing the truck down when i had 1/4 tank of fuel and less. so now i keep it above 1/4 at all times. My edge reads only about 11-12 at idle. Once i get on it with level 3,4 or 5. i get to watch the Fuel Pressure go right out the window. down to 4-7 depending on how hard i get on it. Spending The great cash on this part as i did, i want expecting this. Does any one know of some sort of pressure adjustment on the pump so I can Bump it up? what is the map pressure i can push to the vp without harming it? When I did the Install of the Fass Pump i Ran it to the stock fuel filter, the reasons i did this was , 1 keep the stock water in fuel light, 2 the more filters the better? 3 with the parts the kit came with i would have not been able to keep my juice's fuel pressure sender in. Should i have by passed the stock filter set up? or run a bigger line from that fule filter to my vp? or take my fass directly to my vp. I wanna up grade the vp eventually, but not a premature replacment. keeping the adventure alive rotfl
I havent bought a FASS yet,but I was talking to a guy about one the other night. He said to go with the complete system.Eliminate the stock fuel filter, and run the system directly to the injector pump.I have an Edge to,and he said there is a place on the Fass pump to put the fuel pressure sending unit.I also read that there is a kit available from Fass to move your sending unit.
x2 Except, I just ordered my FASS today. Planning on replacing the lift pump and OEM fuel filter with the system. The full sys. comes with a larger line from the tank pickup to the FASS and then plumbs directly to the IP. Correct me if I'm wrong...
yes that is what it says in the installation manual. but it didnt have any fittings for the fuel pressure sender for my edge. so i guess i have to ditch the factory fuel filter and got direct to the vp44. and figure out a way to get my sending unit in there some how. i was hoping not to loose the fuel in water light and such, but i guess i'm goin to have to ditch that. when i get time i am goin to play with it and see what i come up with. what i dont understand is that they fass says soo many psi of pressure, IE 20 psi. but i never see that, is there an adujustment somewhere that i am missing???
I'd recommend giving them a call. Even with your fuel line routing you shouldn't be pulling the pressure that low.
I have the FASS system on my 01 and routed it though the stock filter for the same reasons. I called Fass direct and talked to one of the enginers who said it would not effect the fuel pressure to route it that way. I had to get some fittings for my local parker dealer, and a "T" fighting from Earl's plumbing (a division of Holley) for the presure sender for my Edge juice. The factory Dodge fittings are a metric thread -6 an. The only fitting I had to wait for was the fitting from Earls. If it helps I may be able to find the Parker and Earl's part numbers.
How old is this pump, and did you fill out the warranty card on it? I would say lets get together and see if we can't get this tool care of. Call me here at the shop - 800.450.7036 Jason
you don't loose the water separator with the full FASS system. the filter with the valve on the bottom is a water separator.
This may be a little early to start posting it but we are expecting the BD Max Flow Lift pumps to start shipping mid June. -160 GPH -Virtually Silent -5 Year Warranty
