Sterling Trucks has released a Artist Concenption of what everyone thinks is their version of the Dodge 4500/5500. Lets hope its true since Dodge does not intend on offering their version with a truck body. Dave
correct me if i am wrong... but isnt sterling a ford company? im not saying desing shares like that dont and cant happen... but i think it would be counter productive for ford to do that.... Grant
I'm not sure if Ford owns Sterling anymore or not. I thought they were getting out of the "Big truck" market.
Looks like they are owned by Freightliner. What engines come in the Sterling? Is it a Detroit or does Sterling make their own engines? Mercedes maybe?
Blurry photo.....I saw that photo on DodgeTruckWorld. Coloradok5 is right, it looks like just the grill has changed.
actually sterling is owned by freightliner which is a subsidiary of chrylser hince the look a like.....my cousin has a sterling wrecker that has a mercedes diesel and allison transmission in it really nice trucks
Those 'Mercedes' engines are just O'le re-vamped Detroit 60 Series. What I'd like to see is REAL Cummins software and not the Dodge garbage. Cummins spends $$$$ to make the software WORK and Dodge just seems to goof it up, IMHO.
where did you get this information from? mercedes has been in the diesel market much longer than Detroit and the new engines dont even look like a revamped detroit.
Sterling was sold to Freightliner so is now a part of Daimler. You name the engine and you can probably get it - MBE, Cummins, Cat, Detroit.
