In the past month or so I’ve noticed that 1st thing in the morning or after the truck has sat long enough to get cold when I start it up I notice a fairly loud clicking or ticking sound and the engine is louder than normal. When it warms up this goes away. Is this simply a sticky lifter that’s making noise until it fills with oil? If so, should I be concerned or no big deal.

Within the last 6 weeks or about 1200 miles ago.

Dear Bar; Our motors have solid lifters, so I was thinking either you have a rocker that needs to be readjusted, it does not like the oil you are using, or an injector is going bad. Hell, it could even be a bent push rod. My Dad had a '63 Ford Galaxie 500 that bent a push at 40K-for no apparent reason.
With mine, I to notice that the lifter noise (or what I think is valve train noise) is alittle louder when I start cold. But not a loud clicking.
How many miles are on the clock, and what brand of oil are you using?
    Thanks, Michael.
