    My dually can take either
    235-80-R17 or 265-70-R17

    what's the difference ???
why choose one over the other ??:dunno:

It has General's 235-80-R17 on it now,,,
(factory tires went 70K w/no problems..
    pretty impressive for Generals..)

Looking to replace with Michelin LTX M&S

    any suggestions ??

According to my math the 235 ends up being 31.8 inches tall, with a section width of 9.3 inches and a section height of 7.4 inches. The 265 ends up being 31.6 inches tall, with a section width of 10.4 inches and a section height of 7.3 inches. Hope this helps.

I don't believe you can go with the 265 on the dually without spacers. You gotta remember that you need room for the sidewalls to flex without contact, and this is especially true if you are hauling any kind of weight. If you end up trying the 265, please post come photos from ground level between the duals. I have looked for other size options, but have found none so far.

On the third gen Dodges you can do a 265, it is also possible to get away with a 285, so I am told. I have 315 and if they did not have any weight on them they would bolt up. I installed a two inch spacer because the stock studs are an inch and three quarters long. I did not want to cut down the stock studs, in case I ever go back to stock. My next time out I will be removing the spacer and putting on 285's. I have not had any problems with the spacer it is just hard to keep the rig clean with the rear tires sticking out that far.
