My brother is running BF Goodrich Rugged Trail 265s like I'm running great tire for the money do good in the mud and snow great in rain kinda sucks on ice but all tires do unless you got those Blizacks.
When I bought the truck it had well worn 305/75's on it, they rubbed very little on the spring not on the fender, & only with the steering wheel at full lock. That size filled the wheel wells very nicely. The tires were BFG M/T I believe, that size and tread was rather prone to hydroplaning, and did not do well in snow, as is expected with mudders. Right now for summer I have BFG Rugged Trail 285/75's and IMO with the exception of on dry pavement they suck. I am not trying to argue with the above post. I have had to put my truck in 4x4 in wet grass on more then one occasion. Also backing up a steep gravel driveway I have to use 4x4, they just do not grip very well. I have liked the BFG A/T's, but they are getting rather pricey. I have the same bad opinion of Michelin LTX M/S, they are good on pavement, but lousy on wet grass, snow, or a little mud. IMO The M/S rating is false advertisement on this tread. In winter I use Cooper ATR 235/85 which are almost 32" in dia but only 9 1/4 " wide so they really cut through the snow down to pavement. They are a great all around tire tread, lots of snow plowers use them. I noticed I could plow snow in 4x2 in places where previously with the Michelin tires had to use 4x4. They do look a bit small on my truck considering I have factory stock X-code front springs and trailer tow package overload rear springs, the truck sits rather high compared to other stock F-350's. I think my next set when the BFG Long Trail's wear out just might be a set of 285/75 Coopers.
How hard would it be to fit something around a 315? Looking for a good load tire but with some looks and aggression.
I'm running 235/85R16s. IMO revs too high for highway travel. Too bad there isn't anything in a 35" AT or MT tire that fits the 7" wide rim. The Michelin 9.00R16 has the right carcass... just a brutal tread pattern.
I am running Firestone Destination ATs 285/75s on my Chevy 2500HD and I really like them. I have had them off road here in dessert of Las Vegas and they have gripped really well. I don't really know how they would perfrom in mud, but they have decent lugs on the sides for an AT tire. They have done really well in the sand and rocks so far.
on my 97 f-350 im running 35's with no lift just a little trimming on the bottom of the front fender.
How many miles do you have on them I'm kinda curious about Cooper Tires they seem to have a good product at a good price.
