I had 315/70/17 BFG AT's on my 3rd Gen. They DID NOT rub with a Kore Recon Series Suspension System but DID rub with the stock suspension. If you want to play it safe, stick with 285/70/17s. Dodge puts this size tire on the Power Wagon from factory so you know it won't prematurely wear out the steering components.
You can fit a 285s (33") no lift or 315s (35") with front spacers. Some run 315s with no lift, and tolerate minor rubbing. I am saving up for new tires, and I think I am going to go with the Toyo ATs in 285/75/17.
This past weekend I installed some 35” Toyo open country’s on H2 wheels on my ’04 and the Lorenz leveling kit. The passenger side rubs a bit at full lock but I think that’s mostly due to the plastic inner fender liner already being a bit tore up. Before that I had on some 285/70/17 Toyo AT’s and they cleared perfectly, not even close to rubbing on stock suspension. The 285’s are for sale (including wheels) if anyone is interested. They’ve got about 10,000 miles on them and are in great shape.
315/70/17's on my 06 dually with a superlift 2" springs and shocks all the way around. No rubbing but there is very little if any room for a larger tire without rubbing with the wheels turned and suspension flexed. LT.
I run 295/70R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on 17x9 Moto Metal 951s. On the stock wheels, with no leveling kit, there was no rub. I leveled it before I got the Motos, so I don't know if they would have rubbed or not. Probably would have, since they are "high offet" (tires/wheels stick out about 2") Looks cool, but gets pretty dirty when it rains.
I am running 315/75/17 BFG All Terrains with no front lift and a full replacement Ranch Hand on the front and have not rubbed once, even off in the rough stuff.
i run 35" Nitto Mud Grapplers.......they rub control arms when i have it cocked all the way to one side but you kinda just learn where to stop turning
What kind of wheels are you running? Is the backspacing close to stock? I can't find anything that not going to hang the tires out of the fenders.
I am running cheap Discout Tire Nascar black aluminum wheels with what I measured 4.5" back spacing. My budy has a Chevy with factory '06 Dodge wheels with 35's and I put them on my truck and they rubbed.
